From Kalotaszeg
to a new fashion language.

Born in Huedin — Bánffyhunyad — in the Kalotaszeg region of Transylvania, she grew up surrounded by a distinctive visual and craft culture. Through her grandmother from Kispetri and her father, a woodcarver, she encountered the value of making by hand from an early age.

Trained in economics, Kati worked in banking before returning to the creative world. She first established KAT'ART, her jewellery brand, and later expanded her practice into fashion.

Today her collections translate the freehand-drawn embroidery language of Kalotaszeg into contemporary couture, tailoring and denim. She approaches tradition as a living visual system, protected through responsible visibility and renewed through design.

Kati is a mother of four. Her work is shaped by continuity: between generations, between women and makers, and between inherited knowledge and the life of the present.
